Widow sues fire truck driver for fatal crash
On Nov. 23, it was reported that a California widow filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles County and the driver of a fire truck who allegedly caused the fatal accident that killed her husband. The accident occurred on July 31 at about 5 p.m. as the widow and her 36-year-old husband were heading to a rehearsal dinner for a wedding.
The collision took place as the passenger vehicle was attempting to make a left turn on Mulholland Highway in Agoura Hills. The lawsuit alleged that the driver of the fire truck was driving too fast and unsafely passing vehicles when he collided with the passenger car. The widow reportedly watched her husband die in the accident and continues to suffer from emotional distress due to the incident.
At the time the collision occurred, the fire truck was carrying 13 inmates from a fire camp in Malibu. It was not stated if any other injuries were suffered in the crash. The widow and the deceased man’s mother are seeking unspecified damages for wrongful death and negligence.
